VIDEO: USGS Citizen Science Efforts On The Grand Canyon

This amazing video, recently released by the United States Geological Survey (USGS), shows the citizen engagement the agency uses as it manages large ecosystems like the Grand Canyon. To collect more information, USGS recruits river guides, who spend half the year on the river as citizen scientists  collecting data  to understand how dams impact the canyon.

The USGS has made significant steps towards engaging citizens in their scientific endeavors. The USGS project directory, which can be found here, includes all projects where citizens can participate in data collection.
